Why I Do It

You never know the storm behind someone’s story. Greetings, EYE AM Jocelyn—a Georgia peach and advocate fueled with a passion for all things creative and the founder of Eye Am More. I consider myself a perpetual student, eager to stay abreast of the ever-changing trends with health, mindfulness, and of course—people.

I have had my share of adventures. Attended university, lived abroad, served as a missionary, climbed a Mayan pyramid, mentored dozens, and pioneered a number of initiatives to help communities. But I have had my share of challenges. Rejected in the womb, emotionally abandoned, forgotten in remedial classes, dismissed and abused repeatedly, trafficked by my own family [I know, I know], and bullied by death (I am a suicide survivor) and humans alike. My trek thus far proves one thing: that I, like you, am living proof that, “We’re more than the worst thing we’ve ever experienced.”

Eye Am More is my life’s passion and purpose.  I’ve always enjoyed helping others to see themselves through an eternal lens, a lesson I learned on my "road to recovery." There is life beyond where you came from. I am a firm believer that the unique partnering of mindfulness, perseverance, and the right community is key to thriving in a world that consistently tells you you're less than.

How I Do It

At our core, each of us is special, significant, and born full of potential. Then fear enters stage right, revealing the worst of the world. Too many of us get stuck in “the worst” and fail to thrive after those experiences. We waste too much time ONLY believing in God and don't spend enough time believing in the God IN us. Through Eye Am More, I use decades of leadership training and life experience to help others navigate life beyond their circumstances and see themselves in their original design.

I challenge the status quo, which means I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, and I’m totally okay with that. If we're destined to connect, you will be okay with that too. Teaching others to live their best lives by abandoning the “box” and embracing the uncomfortable is bound to ruffle some feathers. But when you know it’s your assignment you count every opportunity to help someone whole-heartedly maximize who they were meant to be a privilege.

To that end, my life’s mission is to eradicate shame and stigma surrounding matters like mental health, sexual abuse, grief, and more. As a survivor of my own unique set of traumas, I know that identifying the root of your challenges and loving yourself past the pain helps you manifest your greatness but, most importantly—facilitates healing.
